Hang Seng Table Tennis Academy


As the first formally structured academy for a single sport in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Table Tennis Academy was established on the foundation of the former Hang Seng Table Tennis Development Programme, which was introduced in 1991. It aims to provide comprehensive training and development programmes for table tennis players.
Since 1991, the Bank's sponsorship to the Academy has totalled over HKD25 million.
Over 2,650 activities were organised for more than 130,000 table tennis enthusiasts in the past, including the All School Table Tennis Championships, New Generation Championships, ambassador scheme for the NGOs.
The Academy also organised Table Tennis Fun Days for near 450 children from low-income families to participate in a range of table tennis-related activities.
The Hang Seng Table Tennis Academy is presented by the Hong Kong Table Tennis Association; supported by the Leisure and Cultural and Services Department and sponsored by Hang Seng Bank.

Hang Seng Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme


In order to recognise the hard work and achievements of local athletes, Hang Seng Bank and the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) have launched the Hang Seng Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme.
In 2009, HKSI and the Bank announced that the cash incentive awards offered to local medalists at the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games will be double those offered in 2005.
To date, about HK$8.6 million has been awarded to a total of 111 outstanding athletes, including of over HK$1,400,000 to 33 Olympians and Paralympians in 2008.
