1. Can I apply for "Personal Accident Insurance Plan"?

1. Can I apply for "Personal Accident Insurance Plan"?
  You can apply for "Personal Accident Insurance Plan" if you are not engaged in working with special risks, operating dangerous machine or working as a member of the disciplinary or military force. 2. Can housewives or retired persons apply for "Personal Accident Insurance Plan"?
  Yes, housewives or retired persons aged between 18 and 59 can enrol in the plan.
 
   
3. Is there any age limit for the insured?
  The age of the proposer and spouse must be between 18 and 59.
 
   
4. Can students take out "Personal Accident Insurance Plan"?
  Except students studying abroad, any students aged between 18 and 59 with Hong Kong as their place of permanent residence can apply for "Personal Accident Insurance Plan".
 
   
5. Will the Insured be required to undertake any medical examination for enrolment in the Plan?
  No medical check up is needed.
 
   
6. Is this insurance plan subject to any regional and temporal restrictions?
  The plan provides a daily 24-hour worldwide coverage for personal accident without any regional and temporal restrictions.
 
   
7. If I am holding policies from two insurance companies at the same time, can I claim accident damages under both policies?
  Yes, provided that you have declared the matter at the time of taking out the policy or afterwards.
 
   
8. Will I continue to enjoy the various protection benefits if I change my occupation after taking out "Personal Accident Insurance Plan" ?
  If there is a change in the nature of your work (for instance, a non-manual worker becomes a taxi-driver), you should immediately notify "Hang Seng General Insurance". The policy will continue to be valid only after acceptance by "Hang Seng General Insurance".
 
   
9. Will compensation be made for injuries incurred by prolonged participation in a specific sport?
  No, it is because such injuries are excluded under the policy.
 
   
10. If the Insured dies or becomes disabled from illness, pregnancy or childbirth or commits suicide during the term of insurance, will he / she be covered by the insurance?
  No, all these items are not covered.
 
   
11. What should I do if emergency assistance is required abroad?
  You may call our 24-Hour Global Emergency Assistance Hotline on 2528 0048 for prompt and free assistance in local medical, legal and travel advice.
 
   
12. How can I be entitled to the Cash Refund Privilege?
  If you do not make a claim for five consecutive years, you will receive a cash refund equals to 30% of the total paid premium as a bonus.
 
   
13. What is "Policy Review Period"?
  "Policy Review Period" means the Insured will be entitled to review the policy within 15 days after receipt of the policy. For any reason he / she is not satisfied, simply return it with a written notice within 15 days after receipt of the policy. The policy will be cancelled and any premium already paid will be refunded if you have not made a claim.
 
   
14. Do I need to arrange policy renewal upon expiry?
  No, your policy will be automatically renewed on a yearly basis until you reach the age of 65.
 
   
15. Is a death caused by the bites of malaria mosquitoes an accidental death?
  It is not an accident as the malaria transmitted through mosquitoes and pests are caused by virus. Any disease, even though, contracted accidentally, is not covered.
 
   
16. I have enrolled the "Personal Accident Insurance Plan" and have been injured in an accident arising out of and in the course of my occupation or business, would there be any benefit covered?
  If you are not working as white collars or in occupations without special risks, the 'Occupational Accident Exclusion' would be endorsed by "Hang Seng General Insurance". Therefore, it depends on individual customer's policy to determine whether he/she is under protection.
