1. Once insured, will the Insured be covered by this plan wherever he/she is in Mainland China?
It depends on whether the Insured has subscribed for a Blue Card or Gold Card. The Blue Card covers accident emergency medical treatment at designated hospitals in Guangdong and Fujian provinces. On the other hand, the Insured holding a Gold Card will enjoy the protection at designated hospitals in any city or province in the Mainland China. For the list of cities and provinces as well as hospitals, the Insured may refer to the website of Ming An Insurance: www.mingan.com

2. I applied for the Gold Card but was granted together with a Blue Card. How to use them?
The Insured with the Gold Card shall enjoy comprehensive accident medical protection at around 4,000 designated hospitals in any city and province in the Mainland; whereas, in Guangdong and Fujian Provinces, the Insured has to produce the Blue Card when visiting the 3,000 designated medical units endorsed by the Public Health Bureau of the relevant province.

3. Is there any requirement that the Insured must stay in the medical unit for more than 24 hours before he/she can get the medical expenses protection provided by this plan?
Except the exclusions as mentioned in the policy, as long as the Insured has been admitted to hospital as a result of an accident, he/she would be covered and he/she does not need to be hospitalised for more than 24 hours.

4. If the accidental medical expenses exceed the maximum limit as specified in the Schedule of Benefits, what should the Insured do?
If the emergency medical expenses are within the maximum benefit of HKD300,000, the Insured need not pay any medical expenses before discharging from hospital; if otherwise, the Insured has to pay the excess amount.

5. Will the Insured enrolling for this plan be automatically entitled to the Worldwide Emergency Assistance Service provided by Inter Partner Assistance Hong Kong Limited? Will the Insured get the medical assistance service outside China, for example, in the UK?
After approval of the Insured's enrollment for this plan, he/she will automatically be entitled to the Worldwide Emergency Assistance Service provided by Inter Partner Assistance Hong Kong Limited. It is a global service and the Insured may enjoy the medical assistance service and travel hotline services outside China. For details, please see the promotion booklet or policy.

6. When will the protection come into effect?
The protection will be valid seven working days after acceptance of the proposal.

7. What kind of hospitals within the territory of China fall outside the network of this protection plan? If the Insured has been admitted into a hospital which is not under the network of this plan, can he/she claim reimbursement from the Insurer by providing the original medical bills and receipts?
Joint venture and military hospitals are generally excluded from the medical network of this plan. If the Insured is not hospitalised within the hospital network, the Insurer will not be responsible for paying the related hospital deposit guarantee and medical expenses.

8. How do the network medical units in the Mainland check and confirm the identity of the Insured?
Upon admission of the Insured into hospital, the staff of the medical unit will check the information printed on the Accident Emergency Medical Insurance Card and the Insured's identification documents such as China Re-entry Permit or passport numbers.

9. What can an Insured do if a network hospital rejects his/her application?
The Insured should call Ming An Insurance 24-hour Customer Service Hotline (86) 135-1001-5793. Ming An staff will then verify the relevant information and contact The Ministry of Public Health, The People's Republic of China / Provincial Public Health Bureau to arrange for the Insured's admission.
