1. What is the coverage of 'Personal Accident at Home' benefit?

8. What is the coverage for personal liability?

1. What is the coverage of 'Personal Accident at Home' benefit?
  It covers death or permanent total disablement of the insured or the family members due to fire or robbery at home. The maximum claim is HKD15,000 per year. If more than one person is involved in the incident, each person shall receive the average of the maximum claim.
 
   
2. Are wallpaper and flooring (interior decorations) within the coverage of the "Home Ownership Scheme HomeCare Plan"?
  Yes, but the customer must have decorated the wall and change the flooring before they are entitled to compensation as the original flooring forms part of the 'shell of the house' and is covered by the master policy of the Home Ownership Scheme.
 
   
3. If the house is not occupied for a long period of time or the whole family travel overseas occasionally, will the post-accident claim be affected?
  If the house has not been occupied for more than 15 consecutive days, no compensation shall be payable to stolen.
 
   
4. Is there any excess for the "Home Ownership Scheme HomeCare Plan"?
  The insured need not pay any excess.
 
   
5. In the calculation of property loss under the "Home Ownership Scheme HomeCare Plan", is it necessary to deduct depreciation?
  Yes. Deduction for wear and tear and depreciation will apply to claim settlement.
 
   
6. Is there a limit to the maximum coverage amount for the loss of each piece of 'household property'?
  Yes. Except furniture, household electrical appliances, radios, television sets, pianos, musical instruments and interior decorations, the maximum coverage amount for each of the items shall not exceed 5 % of the sum insured on household contents; i.e. HKD7,500 ( HKD150,000 x 5 %) under plan A and HKD15,000 ( HKD300,000 x 5%) under Plan B.
 
   
7. Is there also a limit to the maximum coverage amount for the loss of each 'valuable item'?
  Yes. For valuable items including jewelry and gold ornaments, fur and so on, the maximum coverage amount for each item shall be HKD10,000 under Plan A and HKD20,000 under Plan B and the aggregate compensation per annum shall be HKD50,000 under Plan A and HKD100,000 under Plan B.
 
   
8. What is the coverage for personal liability?
  The coverage will protect against the legal liability in the event of the Insured or the family's negligence occurred at home and causing third-party death or bodily injury or property damage.
