Critical Illness Life Insurance Plan


Critical Illness Life Insurance Plan of Hang Seng Insurance Company Limited (“Hang Seng Insurance”) brings you all-round critical illness protection and enables you to confront any challenge in each stage of life.
 
38 critical illnesses are covered under the Critical Illness Benefit(1), including cancers, strokes, heart diseases and other common critical illnesses.
The Carcinoma In-Situ Benefit(2) and Early Stage Cancer Benefit(3) are introduced, so that part of the Sum Insured can be advanced for treatment expenses.

Guaranteed Cash Value and projected annual policy dividends(4) are provided during the policy period as savings for your financial flexibility.
Shorter premium payment terms for your selection: 15 years, 20 years or up to the Life Insured’s Insurance Age(5) of 85.

(1) Critical Illness Benefit is payable according to the definitions of critical illnesses as defined under the Policy of the Plan. The relevant definitions are stated in the terms and conditions of the Policy. After the policy has been issued for 90 days up to the life insured's Insurance Age(5) of 85, the Critical Illness Benefit will only be payable once even if the Life Insured is diagnosed with more than one critical illnesses by a registered doctor. The Policy will be terminated once such claim is settled.
(2) The Carcinoma In-Situ Benefit, payable up to twice per different organ and once per same organ, is payable according to the definitions of Carcinoma In-Situ as defined under the Policy of the Plan. The Benefit equivalent to 10% of Sum Insured will be payable each time and subject to a maximum benefit amount of HKD120,000 (USD15,000) per Life Insured per claim. Once advance payments(6) are made twice, this Carcinoma-In-Situ Benefit will then be terminated. Death Benefit, Critical Illness Benefit(1), Guaranteed Cash Value upon surrender or maturity of the Plan will be reduced by the advance payment made under Carcinoma-In-Situ Benefit. Premium payable under the Policy will not be reduced after claiming the aforesaid benefit.
(3) The Early Stage Cancer Benefit, payable up to twice per different organ and once per same organ, is payable according to the definitions of Early Stage Cancer as defined under the Policy of the Plan. The Benefit equivalent to 20% of Sum Insured will be payable each time and subject to a maximum benefit amount of HKD240,000 (USD30,000) per Life Insured per claim. Once advance payments(6) are made twice, this Early Stage Cancer Benefit will then be terminated. Death Benefit, Critical Illness Benefit(1), Guaranteed Cash Value upon surrender or maturity of the Plan will be reduced by the advance payment made under Early Stage Cancer Benefit. Premium payable under the Policy will not be reduced after claiming the aforesaid benefit. In the event that Early Stage Cancer Benefit has been paid for a particular organ, the Carcinoma In-Situ Benefit(2) under the Plan for the same organ terminates.
(4) The policy dividends and the annual interest rate that is used to accumulate the policy dividends are not guaranteed. The policy dividend scales will be determined based on the overall experience of this Plan and all similar policies. The Sum Insured at the time of application will be used in calculating the dividend amount, and adjusted for any subsequent reduction in Sum Insured requested by Policyholder.
(5) Insurance Age means, at any date, the age of the Life Insured or Policyholder (as applicable) on the most recent birthday prior to the Policy Date plus the number of completed Policy Years. If the Life Insured’s or Policyholder’s (as applicable) birthday is on the Policy Date, it will be calculated based on the age on such Policy Date.
(6) Advance payments refer to the benefit amount paid under Carcinoma-In-Situ Benefit(2) and / or Early Stage Cancer Benefit(3) of this Plan.
