1. About Hang Seng Mobile Trading

 
 
1.1 What is Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  Hang Seng Mobile Trading is a new service which allows customers to use supported mobile handsets to access our online investment services currently available on personal computers.
   
1.2 What functions are available in Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  Securities Trading
- Place, amend, or cancel Normal orders, Market orders, Stop Loss orders, and Auction orders for all local securities listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (excluding NASDAQ and iShares)
- View your latest stock holdings
- Check your buying power
- Check your order status
- Obtain real-time quotes of locally listed stocks and warrants
- Obtain real-time Hang Seng Index and Hang Seng China Enterprise Index

Forex and Gold Margin Trading
- Trade with prevailing rates
- Place (new or square) normal orders
- Cancel and enquire orders
- Check your outstanding positions
- Check your account
- Obtain real-time quotes (manual update or auto update)

Fund Transfer
- Transfer funds between your Hang Seng accounts (single currency or cross currency)

   
1.3 Is this service free of charge?
  Yes. There are no additional charges for using Mobile Trading - only the normal banking and transaction charges listed in Securities Service Charges and the commission fee for gold margin trading apply. However, please check with your telecommunication service provider about data transmission and/or other charges that may apply to using the Internet via your mobile handset, particularly when you are travelling outside Hong Kong and using a roaming service.
   
1.4 Do I need to use the service plan of any particular telecommunication service provider?
  No, Hang Seng Mobile Trading can be accessed via the network of any telecommunication service providers, both local and overseas
   
1.5 If I am already a Hang Seng Personal e-Banking user, do I need to register again to use Mobile Trading?
  No. If you have already set up a securities account (for Securities Trading) or a Forex & Gold Margin Trading account (for Forex & Gold Margin Trading) under your Integrated Account, you can use the same Hang Seng e-Banking User Name and Password to access Hang Seng Mobile Trading.
   
1.6 How can I access Hang Seng Mobile Trading if I am not currently a Hang Seng Personal e-Banking user?
 

You must first register for Hang Seng Personal e-Banking via a personal computer and set up a securities account (for Securities Trading) or a Forex & Gold Margin Trading account (for Forex & Gold Margin Trading) online if you do not already have one. Once this simple process is complete, you will be able to access Hang Seng Mobile Trading.

   
1.7 How can I set up a Hang Seng securities account or a Forex & Gold Margin Trading account?
 

You can do this real-time via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking (applies to Hang Seng Personal e-Banking customers only) or go to one of our branches.

   
1.8 Do I have to use a 3G service/handset?
 

No, you can use a 2G, 3G, HSDPA or Wi-Fi service. However, you must have a telecommunication service plan and mobile handset that can support Internet access.

   
1.9 What is the average response time of Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
 

Since Hang Seng Mobile Trading uses a simplified interface design, under normal circumstances with stable signal strength, average response times should be similar to those experienced when accessing Hang Seng Personal e-Banking via fixed networks.

   
1.10 Do I need to use a specific mobile handset model?
 

No, the service will operate on a range of different mobile handsets. However, as we have to tailor the service according to the requirements of different mobile handset models, we recommend that you to use a handset that has been well-tested by the Bank. We will announce the details of well-tested mobile handsets in batches.

   
1.11 How can I find out if my mobile handset is supported?
 

We update our Supported Handset list when we complete the testing process. We will also post details of the next batch of mobile handsets being put through testing on our website, which may help you if you are considering the purchase of a new mobile handset.

2.1 Who can use Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  You can use Hang Seng Mobile Trading if you have:
1. Registered for Hang Seng Personal e-Banking; and
2. Activated your Securities account (for Securities Trading) or Forex & Gold Margin Trading account (for Forex & Gold Margin Trading) under an Integrated Account.
   
2.2 Do I have to register for Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  No registration is required for Hang Seng Personal e-Banking customers with a Securities account (for Securities Trading) or a Forex & Gold Margin Trading account (for Forex & Gold Margin Trading).
   
2.3 Can I register for Hang Seng Personal e-Banking via my mobile handset?
  No. Please visit Hang Seng Personal e-Banking for online registration.


3. Logon & Logoff

 
 
3.1

How can I logon to Hang Seng Personal e-Banking via my mobile handset?

 

You need the following to logon to Hang Seng Personal e-Banking:
1. Any of the supported mobile handsets; and
2. Hang Seng Personal e-Banking credentials: User Name, Date of Birth and Password.

   
3.2 Can I use Hang Seng Mobile Trading at any time?
  Yes, you can use Hang Seng Mobile Trading 24 hours a day, except during the Bank's regular system maintenance period.
   
3.3 Can I change my Hang Seng Personal e-Banking Username and Password via Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  No.  To change your password, you can logon to Hang Seng Personal e-Banking and select “Change Password” under “Customer Services”.
   
3.4 What if I forget my password?
  You can set-up a new password via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking and then activate this new password through our Customer Service Hotlines* (if you have a phone PIN), by mail, or by visiting any of our branches in person.
* For Prestige Banking customers, please call 2998-9188.
For Preferred Banking customers, please call 2822-8228.
For Integrated Account customers with CSR Phone Banking Service, please call 2998-9333.

For other customers, please re-apply for a password by mail or visit any of our branches in person.
   
3.5 After logging onto Hang Seng Personal e-Banking via my mobile handset, can I return to/switch to another browser on my mobile handset and then return to the service again?
  In general, there is only one browser available on a mobile handset.  However, when you are logging onto Hang Seng Personal e-Banking and subsequently go to another webpage in the same browser, the Hang Seng Personal e-Banking session will not be terminated until you manually logoff the session or the session is timed out after being idle for a certain period of time.

4.1

How can I logon to Hang Seng Personal e-Banking via my mobile handset?

  You can logon to Hang Seng Personal e-Banking by entering the URL "https://mobile.hangseng.com" on your mobile handset.
   
4.2 Why do I need to key in https:// in the URL?
  This is because you will be accessing a secured site directly.
   
4.3 How can I know that data encryption is in place?
  The padlock icon, which indicates encrypted data transfer, must be locked.
   
4.4 Can I access Hang Seng Mobile Trading in Chinese?
  Yes. You can access the Chinese version of Hang Seng Mobile Trading if your mobile handset supports UTF-8 codes. Please set the default encoding of the browser in your mobile handset to Unicode (UTF-8) so that you can access Hang Seng Mobile Trading in Chinese.
   
4.5 Can I access Hang Seng Mobile Trading when I am overseas?
  Hang Seng Mobile Trading is accessible as long as you have an Internet connection and are using one of the supported mobile handset models. Please check with your telecommunication service provider for details.
   
4.6 Can I use any mobile handset to access Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  We recommend that you use a handset model that has been well-tested by the Bank.  Please refer to the supported handsets section.


5. General Instruction for Local Securities Trading and Forex & Gold Margin Trading

 
 
5.1 How can I place an order?

5.2 If there is an incoming call, what will happen when I am placing an order?
  There may be interruption to your Internet connection and thus your instruction. You must check whether your order has been accepted in the “Order Status” section for securities trading and “Cancel & Enquire Order” section for Forex & Gold Margin Trading.
   
5.3 If I encounter a transmission interruption or receive an unexpected message, and do not receive an acknowledgement when confirming an instruction/transaction, what can I do to confirm if my order placement was successful or not?
  If you encounter a transmission interruption or receive an unexpected message, and DO NOT receive an acknowledgement when confirming an instruction/transaction, please refer to your Order Status (for Securities Trading)/Cancel & Enquiry Order (for Forex and Gold Margin Trading)/Account Balance (for Fund Transfer) to check whether your instruction/transaction has been received/completed.

  You can place new orders via Hang Seng Mobile Trading at the following times:

6. Fund Transfer

 
 
6.1

What types of fund transfers are available through Hang Seng Mobile Trading?

 
Hang Seng Mobile Trading offers fund transfer between your Hang Seng accounts.
   
6.2 Can I transfer funds overseas through Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  No.
   
6.3 What is the maximum amount I can transfer daily through Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  There is no maximum amount for fund transfer between self-named Hang Seng accounts.
   
6.4 Can I reduce the daily transfer limit myself?
  You cannot reduce your daily transfer limit via Hang Seng Mobile Trading but you can reduce your daily transfer limit online under “Account Maintenance” of the Customer Services section in Hang Seng Personal e-Banking. When you reduce the overall transfer limit, please make sure that the transfer limit of each individual account is below the new overall transfer limit. If you subsequently wish to increase the limit, please download and complete the “Application Form” and/or “Amendment Form” under “Account Maintenance” and then return it to any Hang Seng Bank branch in person or mail the form to Hang Seng Bank Limited, GPO Box 3013, Hong Kong.
   
6.5 Can I make fund transfer any time of the day?
  HKD transfer is available 24 hours. The service hours for foreign currency transfer within foreign currency accounts (except margin trading collateral account and multi-currency passbook savings accounts) are from 8:00 am to 11:55 pm, Mondays to Fridays, and from 8:00 am to 12:55 pm on Saturdays.

For Forex margin trading collateral accounts, the service hours are from 8:00 am to 8:25 pm, Mondays to Fridays, and from 8:00 am to 12:55 pm on Saturdays.
   
6.6 Can I set up a pending transfer via Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  No.


7. Fees and Charges

Unless otherwise specified, the securities service charges on trading via Hang Seng Mobile Trading are the same as those applicable to other trading channels (such as Hang Seng Personal e-Banking).  The prevailing trade-related charges are highlighted below for reference.  For other fees and detailed charges of trading services, please refer to Securities Service Charges or visit any of our branches.  Please note that the Bank will review and amend these charges from time to time.

How can I get real-time quotes via Hang Seng Mobile Trading?  Are there any charges?

  Real-time Quote service is available through Hang Seng Mobile Trading.  You can assess Real-time Quotes by clicking on the Real-time Quote links on the securities trading input and confirmation pages.  Real-time quote usage may incur charges. Please refer to the "Quote Meter" page under "Stocks” of "Securities Express" in Hang Seng Personal e-Banking for details.
   
7.2 Do you consolidate the real-time quotes I use across different e-channels provided by the Bank?
  Yes, we consolidate these usages.
   
7.3 How much does it cost to use Hang Seng Mobile Trading?
  The Bank does not charge for the use of Hang Seng Mobile Trading.  However, your telecommunication service provider may impose charges on your use of data transmission.
   
7.4 For my use of Hang Seng Mobile Trading, will the Bank pay the data transmission fee for me?
  No. You have to pay your relevant telecommunication service provider any charge that may be imposed on your use of data transmission services.
