Introducing “EV SSL Certificate”

Since 26 July, 2009, Hang Seng Business e-Banking has introduced a new Internet security measure with the adoption of EV SSL Certificate (Extended Validation SSL Certificate). With this verification certificate in place, you can instantly know you are on a genuine Hang Seng Business e-Banking website.

Once the new certificate has been introduced, you will see a change to the URL address bar area at the top of your browser when you visit Hang Seng Business e-Banking. The name of the certificate owner (HANG SENG BANK LTD) will be displayed either on the URL address bar or near the top of the browser. This indicates the successful verification of the site's identity.

For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the URL address bar will turn green with the company and certificate issuer names displayed in alternation.

Here are the minimum requirements of your browser version to take advantage of the new feature (The changes may vary slightly in different browsers.):
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or above
Mozilla Firefox 3 or above
Apple Safari 3.2 or above
Google Chrome
