Personal e-Banking Security

Effective from 26 June 2005, the following security measures have been in place to further enhance online banking security.

Enhanced control of online Bill payment via Personal e-Banking

"Security Device" introduced to Personal e-Banking

Personal e-Banking has introduced a Security Device for verification purposes. When you perform non-registered account transfers or bill payments for payees under the category of e-Merchants, you must enter the Security Code generated by the Security Device to complete the transaction.

For Personal e-Banking Customers, if you wish to perform a non-registered account transfer and/or make bill payments to e-Merchants, please collect the Security Device through one of our branches. The Security Device is free of charge on first-time request.

Security Code

	A one-time password to authenticate your identity
	You can press the left button to generate a new 6-digit password
	Every Security Code will display for only 16 seconds
	For Personal e-Banking customers, you need to enter the Security code before you perform a non-registered account transfer or bill payment to e-Merchants.

Serial Number

	An unique 10-digit number at the back of the device that links with your User Name for Personal e-Banking
	You must login to your Personal e-Banking and input this serial number to activate the Security Device.

Making bill payments to payees under the category of Banking and Credit Card Services, Brokers, Other Financial Institutions and Sports and Leisure will require pre-registration at branches.
