Effective from 26 June 2005, the following security measures will be in place in Personal e-Banking to further enhance online banking security.









If you want to transfer money to a non-registered account or pay a bill issued by one of the e-Merchants^, you will be asked to enter a security code generated by the Security Device to be provided by the Bank. Please click here for more details.

Note: Customers who do not perform the above transactions will not be affected and will have no need for a Security Device. Please click here for more details
 
^ On 26 June 2005, this daily bill payment limit will be reset to HKD 0.To re-apply for the service, please download and complete the 'Amendment Form' on the 'Transfer Limit' page under 'Account Maintenance' of the Customer Services Section and return it to any Hang Seng Bank branch in person after 26 June 2005.

 

Effective from 26 June 2005, a new security measure will be introduced, You are required to input your Date of Birth*, in addition to User Name and Password, to logon Personal e-Banking. We will check your Date of Birth before your password to avoid the possible inconvenience of your account being locked out due to the invalid logon attempts of the others inadvertently. Please see the pictures below to preview the new logon screens.

*This arrangement is not applicable to MPF e-Employee and sole-proprietorship customers.



 


Making bill payments to payees with a new bill account number under the category of Banking and Credit Card Services, Brokers, Other Financial Institutions* and Sports and Leisure will require pre-registration at branches. The existing bill account number set up on the payee list before 26 June 2005 will not be affected. If you wish to delete the bill account number of the payees, please click the 'Delete' button on the 'Pay Paper Bill' screen under 'View and Pay Bill' of the Banking Section.

* Other Financial Institutions is a new category, which includes HSBC Consumer Assets, Promise (HK) Co, and Way Chong Finance Ltd, which were previously grouped under Other Companies.
