The 30 basis point T/T exchange rate premium is only applicable to Prestige Banking customers using Prestige Banking account to exchange RMB online. The exchange rate premiums are based on the differences between the preferential RMB exchange rates to which Prestige Banking customers are entitled to when setting up exchange transactions via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking and the board rates.

Example:
Assume a Prestige Banking customer converts HKD to RMB 20,000 daily with an exchange rate premium of 30 basis points:

Free Auto Currency Switching Service is only applicable to Prestige Banking, Preferred Banking and Integrated Account customers.  Customers can pre-set the transaction amount, exchange rate and pre-defined period, etc. while setting up the Currency Switching Service online. Respective instructions will be executed automatically once the pre-set criteria are met.

The preferential interest rate of up to 0.85% p.a. for placing RMB time deposit in a tenor of 6 months with RMB 10,000 or above via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking is quoted with reference to the interest rates for Prestige Banking customers offered by the Bank on 31 July 2009. Prestige Banking customers who place a new RMB time deposit via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking can enjoy board rate + up to 0.1% p.a. interest rate offer, whereas other customers can enjoy broad rate + up to 0.05% p.a. interest rate offer.

Conduct RMB outward remittance via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking to enjoy handling fee waiver of HKD70.

The offer cannot be used in conjunction with other exchange rate or preferential interest rates offers for the same currency.

Investment involves risk. Fluctuations in the exchange rate of a foreign currency may result in gains or losses in the event that the customer subsequently converts his or her foreign currency deposit back into HKD.
