Terms and conditions:
(1) The promotion period is valid until 30 April 2010 (the “Promotion Period”).
(2) Prestige Banking customers who exchange for the AUD, NZD, EUR or GBP ("Designated Foreign Currencies") via the "Foreign Currency/Gold" page or the "Currency Switching" page of Hang Seng Personal e-Banking can enjoy an Exchange Rate Premium of up to 170 basis points. To enjoy the preferential Time Deposit Interest Rate of up to Board Rate +1.6 %p.a., customers have to complete online exchange of Designated Foreign Currencies and instantly click the designated direct link on the page to set up a one month to six months time deposit in the Designated Foreign Currency with a deposit amount equivalent to HKD50,000 to HKD5,000,000. Customers must use their Hong Kong Dollar Savings / Current Accounts under their Prestige Banking accounts as the debit accounts for the exchange of Designated Foreign Currencies. The offer is not applicable to those foreign currency transactions for which the debit accounts are not Prestige Banking accounts. Designated Foreign Currency transactions must be completed within the Promotion Period. There is no limit to the number of Designated Foreign Currency transactions, but pending designated foreign currency transactions which are preset for completion after the Promotion Period are not eligible.
(3) The preferential interest rates for setting up time deposits in Designated Foreign Currencies in a tenor of six months via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking are quoted with reference to the interest rates for Prestige Banking customers offered by Hang Seng Bank Limited (the “Bank”) on 19 February 2010, which are for reference only. The exchange rate premiums are based on the differences between the preferential exchange rates to which Prestige Banking customers are entitled to when setting up exchange transactions for Designated Foreign Currencies via Hang Seng Personal e-Banking, and the board rates for the respective Designated Foreign Currencies.
(4) The exchange rate premium offer is only applicable to Prestige Banking customers who perform exchange transactions for Designated Foreign Currencies on the “Foreign Currency/Gold” page or the “Currency Switching” page of Hang Seng Personal e-Banking, but not applicable to foreign currency exchanges for transactions related to investment funds or other products. The offer is only applicable to the transactions for the conversion of the Hong Kong dollars into foreign currencies, but not applicable to transactions for the conversion of foreign currencies into the Hong Kong Dollar.
(5) Foreign currency exchange rates are subject to review according to changes in market conditions from time to time. The Bank reserves the right to change the above exchange rate offer at any time. Customers can check the applicable effective exchange rates when performing exchange transactions for Designated Foreign Currencies on the "Foreign Currency/Gold" page or the "Currency Switching" page of Hang Seng Personal e-Banking.
(6) The above promotion offers cannot be used in conjunction with other exchange rate offers for the same currency.
(7) Foreign currency interest rates are subject to review according to changes in market conditions from time to time. The Bank reserves the right to change the interest rate offers at any time. Please check the applicable effective interest rates before making the relevant transactions.
(8) The Bank reserves the right to suspend, revise or terminate the above offers and to amend the terms and conditions thereof at any time without prior notice. In case of disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final.
(9) Investment involves risk. Fluctuations in the exchange rate of a foreign currency may result in gains or losses in the event that the customer subsequently converts his or her deposit back into the HKD.
(10.) The English version of these terms and conditions shall prevail whenever there is a discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions.
