Enhanced Benefits

COVID-19 Benefit Extension
Medical coverage is extended to the Insured Person when infected with COVID-19 during the Journey, provided that the Insured Person has been inoculated with a COVID-19 vaccine that is approved by the HKSAR government. The maximum claim is HKD1 million(1)(2)

Free Automatic Policy Extension
Automatic extension for a maximum period of 14 days in the event that the scheduled Journey of the Insured Person is unavoidably delayed(3)

Notes:
  1. The maximum claim for Medical Expenses and Personal Accident Coverage is HKD600,000(Single Trip Cover - Area 1^) and HKD1,000,000 (Single Trip Cover – Area 2^ & Area3^). For an Insured Person aged under 18 (on the dayof death), the accidental death benefit will be limited to HKD100,000. The coverage of below benefit items are extended to the Insured Person infected with COVID-19 if the Insured Person has been vaccinated with at least one shot of COVID-19 vaccine that is approved by HKSAR government. The Company will pay the benefit payable as specified in the Table of Benefits:
    • Section 1 – Medical And Other Expenses, Benefit (a) Medical Expenses:
      a) Item 1 but excluding additional accommodation and travelling expenses of Insured Person’s relative or friend required on medical advice to travel to, or remain behind with the Insured Person;
      b) Item 4
      c) Item 5
    • Section 8 - Loss of Deposit or Cancellation
    • Section 9 – Curtailment
  2. This Policy does not cover claims in any way caused by or resulting from an Infectious or Contagious Disease*, an outbreak of which has been declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organization (WHO).This exclusion shall apply to claims made after the date of any such declaration(s), other than where a relevant diagnosis has been made by a Registered Medical Practitioner before the date of any such declaration(s).
  3. This Policy will be automatically extended for a maximum period of 14 days in the event that the scheduled Journey of the Insured Person is unavoidably delayed subject to the scheduled itinerary being stipulated prior to departure.
  4. The maximum amount recoverable for each accidental damaged mobile telecommunication device is HKD1,500 (Single Trip Cover - Area 1^), HKD5,000 (Single Trip Cover – Area 2^) and HKD8,000 (Single Trip Cover –Area 3^).
  5. The maximum amount recoverable for each accidentally damaged or lost baggage and personal effects is HKD5,000 for Single Trip Cover – Area 2^ or HKD8,000 for Single Trip Cover –Area 3^ respectively.
  6. If the scheduled aircraft, sea vessel, or train’s departure or arrival is delayed for at least 6 hours, the compensation is HKD250 for the first 6 hours of delay, and HKD200 for every 4 hours thereafter, subject to a maximum claim of HKD2,000. Reimbursement for the irrecoverable loss of pre-paid or reasonable and necessary additional expenses incurred for hotel accommodation in the event of travel delay outside Hong Kong for more than 24 consecutive hours, is up to a maximum amount of HKD1,000 per Insured Person.

    Area 3: Worldwide

    “Infectious or Contagious Disease” means any disease capable of being transmitted from an infected person, animal or species to another person, animal or species by any means.

The above general insurance plan ("Plan") is underwritten by QBE General Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited ("QBE GIHK") which is authorised and regulated in Hong Kong by the Insurance Authority. Hang Seng Bank Limited ("Hang Seng Bank") is an insurance agent authorised by QBE GIHK for the distribution of this Plan. Premiums will be payable to QBE GIHK upon application for this Plan. QBE GIHK will provide Hang Seng Bank with commission and performance bonus as remuneration for distribution of this Plan. The existing staff remuneration policy on sales offered by Hang Seng Bank takes into account various aspects of the staff performance instead of focusing solely on the sales amount.

In respect of an eligible dispute arising between the Hang Seng Bank and the customer out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, Hang Seng Bank is required to enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with the customer; however any dispute over the contractual terms of the product should be resolved directly between QBE GIHK and the customer.
