Terms and Conditions of Hang Seng Preferred Banking Full-time University / Tertiary Students Promotion

General Terms and Conditions

1. The promotion period is from 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2020 ("Promotion Period").
2. All the rewards are only applicable to:
   1. Full-time university / tertiary students of local universities/ institutions who are attending certificate-level or above courses offered by the following accredited educational institutions and their subsidiaries ("Customers"), including: Accredited universities in Hong Kong, Chu Hai College of Higher Education, Vocational Training Council, Hong Kong Academic of Performing Arts, Caritas Institute of Higher Education (formerly known as Caritas Francis Hsu College), Caritas Bianchi College of Careers, Hong Kong Institute of Technology, Hong Kong College of Technology / HKCT Institute of Higher Education, Centennial College, Tung Wah College, Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education, Caritas Institute of Community Education, HKU Space Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho community College, Hong Kong Art School, Pui Ching Academy, Yew Chung Community College and YMCA College of Careers.
   2. Customers who submit applications via the designated branches of the Bank on university campuses or Ubooth. The designated branches of the Bank on university campuses include: Hong Kong Baptist University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong ("Designated University Branches").
   3. New credit card customers who do not currently hold and/or have held any Hang Seng Credit Card principal cards in the past 12 months and are aged 18 or above, and who apply for City University of Hong Kong Credit Card, Hong Kong Baptist University Credit Card, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Credit Card, School of Continuing and Professional Studies CUHK Credit Card and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong Credit Card ("University/College Affinity Credit Card"), and/or
   4. Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking customers who do not currently hold any Integrated Account of Prestige Banking ("Prestige Banking") / Integrated Account of Preferred Banking ("Preferred Banking") / Integrated Account of Green Banking ("Green Banking") and have not closed any Prestige Banking / Preferred Banking / Green Banking / Integrated Account on or after 1 January 2020 or whose accounts have not been closed in any period ("Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking customers").
3. Customers are required to present valid Student ID Cards to enjoy the rewards.
4. Customers who have repeatedly applied for / cancelled the application of University/ College Affinity Credit Card and/or Preferred Banking, will not be entitled to the rewards. If the customer has received the relevant welcome rewards, a handling fee of an equivalent amount will be charged and will be deducted directly from the Customer's credit card account and/or Preferred Banking.
5. None of the rewards can be used in conjunction with any other rewards and returned, exchanged for cash and/or any other rewards.
6. All the rewards are limited and only available while stocks last. The Bank reserves the right to offer an alternate reward of the same value as replacement without prior notice.
7. All products, services and information related to the MCL Cinemas movie tickets are directly sold and supplied to Customers by the relevant merchant, who is solely responsible for all related obligations and liabilities. Use of the relevant movie tickets is subject to the relevant terms and conditions. For details, please refer to the terms and conditions which are mentioned on the relevant movie tickets.
8. MCL Cinemas movie tickets are irreplaceable in the case of loss or expiry.
9. Hang Seng Credit Card Cash Dollars ("Cash Dollars"), as mentioned on these Terms and Conditions, will be credited to the Customers’ Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card accounts with the highest Cash Dollars balance at that time. If Customers have one or more than one Hang Seng Credit Cards with an outstanding Advance Cash Dollars balance, the Cash Dollars will be credited to the Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card accounts with the highest outstanding Advance Cash Dollars balance at that time. Any Customer who does not have any applicable Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card can make enquiries to the Bank and apply for one. The application must be successfully approved one month before the crediting of the relevant Cash Dollars in order to be eligible for the Cash Dollars rewards. If the application for the Credit Card is not approved, the Customers will not be offered any Cash Dollars. Upon the crediting of the Cash Dollars, the relevant Credit Card accounts must still be valid and with good credit records.
10. All the Cash Dollars offers are not applicable to Hang Seng enJoy Card, Hang Seng Supplementary Card, Business Card, Commercial Card, USD Visa Gold Card, UnionPay RMB Diamond Commercial Card, Renminbi Credit Card, Spending Card, e-shopping Mastercard and Private Label Card. The Cash Dollars cannot be transferred or converted into cash. The use of Cash Dollars is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Hang Seng Credit Card Membership Rewards Programme. 11. If a Customer does not have any applicable Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card at the time the Preferred Banking Welcome Offer (as defined in point 17 under "Specific Terms and Conditions of Welcome Rewards") and Hang Seng Payroll Service Offer are being rewarded, the Bank will arrange Cash Reward with the amount equivalent to the Cash Dollars that Customer can earn. Cash Reward will be credited to Customer’s HKD Savings Account or HKD Current Account of Preferred Banking.
12. The Bank reserves the right to suspend, vary or discontinue the relevant reward(s), and amend the terms and conditions for such reward(s) at any time without prior notice. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final.
13. No person other than the Customer and the Bank (which includes its successors and assigns) will have any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance to enforce or enjoy the benefit of any of the provision of these Terms and Conditions.
14. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
15. These Terms and Conditions are subject to prevailing regulatory requirements.



Specific Terms and Conditions of Instant Rewards

16. Customers can get the Instant Rewards if they meet the designated requirements below during promotion period:

    ^ Customer is required to submit the completed application form together with a copy of his/her Hong Kong Identity Card, full-time student ID card which indicates the year of graduation (if applicable) and valid address proof (applicable to opening /upgrading to Preferred Banking, examples of valid address proof: formal document issued by any local university / tertiary institution, mobile phone bill or statement / advice issued by any local licensed bank, etc.) to any of the Designated University Branches or Ubooth.



Specific Terms and Conditions of Welcome Rewards

17. Customers can get the Welcome Rewards if they successfully open/ upgrade to Preferred Banking and apply for University / College Affinity Credit Card during the Promotion Period, and fulfill the designated requirements below ("Eligible Customers"):

18. The Bank will credit the Cash Dollars that Eligible Customers can earn to their applicable Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card according to the below table:

19. When crediting the Cash Dollars, the Preferred Banking and/or the University / College Affinity Credit Card of the customers must still be valid and in good condition. Further, the customers must be still using the Hang Seng Personal e-Banking and e-Statement/e-Advice services.
20. For Eligible Customer who does not have any applicable Hang Seng Credit Card principal card, cash reward (which is equivalent to Cash Dollars Reward) will be credited in Hong Kong dollars into the relevant Preferred Banking Account of the Eligible Customers.

    Specific Terms and Conditions of "Total Relationship Balance" Rewards

21. Each Eligible Customer can only enjoy each of the above Welcome Rewards once.
22. The "Total Relationship Balance" is the monthly aggregate balance of the daily average of all deposits, gold accounts, securities, investment funds, utilized overdraft facilities, credit card cash advances, outstanding balance of personal loans and the accumulated premiums paid for the designated life insurance plans distributed by the Bank as an agent as well as Hang Seng MPF balance. For sole-named Integrated Account holders, their other joint named account(s) will also be included.
23. Eligible Customers can enjoy Cash Reward if the designated "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount is achieved within the subsequent month after the month of account opening and maintain the "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount for the following 3 months. For Eligible Customers who did not hold any account with the Bank prior to account opening, his/her Total Relationship Balance before account opening will be treated as zero.
    1. If Eligible Customer opens account in July 2020, "Total Relationship Balance Growth" means the monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of August 2020 maintained by Eligible Customer in excess of his/her monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of June 2020 and the Eligible Customer has to maintain "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount from September 2020 to November 2020.
    2. If Eligible Customer opens an account in August 2020, "Total Relationship Balance Growth" means the monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of September 2020 maintained by Eligible Customer in excess of his/her monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of July 2020 and the Eligible Customer has to maintain "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount from October 2020 to December 2020.
    3. If Eligible Customer opens an account in September 2020, "Total Relationship Balance Growth" means the monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of October 2020 maintained by Eligible Customer in excess of his/her monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of August 2020 and the Eligible Customer has to maintain "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount from November 2020 to January 2021.
    4. If Eligible Customer opens an account in October 2020, "Total Relationship Balance Growth" means the monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of November 2020 maintained by Eligible Customer in excess of his/her monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of September 2020 and the Eligible Customer has to maintain "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount from December 2020 to February 2021.
    5. If Eligible Customer opens an account in November 2020, "Total Relationship Balance Growth" means the monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of December 2020 maintained by Eligible Customer in excess of his/her monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of October 2020 and the Eligible Customer has to maintain "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount from January 2021 to March 2021.
    6. If Eligible Customer opens an account in December 2020, "Total Relationship Balance Growth" means the monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of January 2021 maintained by Eligible Customer in excess of his/her monthly Total Relationship Balance in the entire month of November 2020 and the Eligible Customer has to maintain "Total Relationship Balance" Growth amount from February 2021 to April 2021.
24. The Bank will credit the Rewards that Eligible Customers can earn to their Preferred Banking account according to the below table:

Specific Terms and Conditions of Credit Card Annual Fee Waiver

25. Customers who successfully apply for a University / College Affinity Credit Card will enjoy a perpetual annual fee waiver. Applicants currently and in the past 6 months holding any personal Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card issued by the Bank are only entitled to a 7-year annual fee waiver.
26. A perpetual annual fee waiver for one credit card will apply during the period which customers are holding Preferred Banking. Applicants currently and in the past 6 months holding any personal Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card issued by the Bank, are only entitled to a 7-year annual fee waiver.

Specific Terms and Conditions of the Hang Seng Payroll Service Offer

28. Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers (as defined on point 2 of "General Terms and Conditions") must have no payroll record under any accounts with the Bank from 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020.
29. Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers who complete the following two procedures can enjoy up to $100 Cash Dollars, as stipulated on the table below:
    • Through a sole-named or joint-named Preferred Banking to set up a payroll service ("Payroll Account").
    • Have number of payroll records as defined below from 1 July 2020 to 31 March 2021 ("Payroll Period") with payroll amount not less than HKD5,000.

30. Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers must inform the employer to use his/her Preferred Banking as the Payroll Account.
31. The payroll amount of each Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customer must be directly credited to his/her Payroll Account by the employer’s company account via Autopay (transaction from non-employer’s company account are ineligible). The payroll amount and the number of payroll transactions are subject to the Bank's records. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Bank shall be final.
32. Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers cannot enjoy $50 Cash Dollars and $100 Cash Dollars simultaneously.
33. The above offer cannot be enjoyed in conjunction with the Bank’s Payroll Services Welcome Offers. For details, please refer to hangseng.com/payroll.
34. Unless otherwise specified, the above offer is not applicable to corporate accounts customers, Private Banking customers and the Bank’s staff.
35. Unless otherwise specified, the above offer is applicable to Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers who have payroll transactions in Hong Kong Dollars only.
36. The Bank will credit the Cash Dollars that Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers can earn to their applicable Hang Seng Credit Card Principal Card on or before 31 May 2021.
37. The Preferred Banking of the Eligible Integrated Account of Preferred Banking Customers must still be valid and in good condition at the time the offer is being rewarded.
