- Before making any FPS transfer, customers have to login e-Banking or Hang Seng Personal Banking Mobile App by Dual-Password or Security Device or Mobile Security Key.
2-factor authentication (2FA) for making payment to non-registered payee
- When making any FPS transfer to non-registered payee, security device / mobile security key is needed as 2-factor authentication.
Transfer amount is bound by the daily transfer limit set by the customers
- Before making any FPS transfer, a daily transfer limit had to be set up.
- For transferring to non-registered payee, the default transfer limit is zero. 2-factor authentication is needed if customers wish to setup/raise their daily transfer limit online.
- For transferring to registered payee, 2-factor authentication is needed to add a new registered payee.
Real-time SMS / Email notification will be sent to the customers after the following FPS transactions are made
- Transfer to non-registered payee
- Receive payment
- Online add new registered payee (In addition, a paper advice will also be mailed to customers when the payee is successfully added to e-Banking.)

Any Personal e-Banking customer with a HKD/RMB deposit account is eligible for FPS registration. A valid mobile number or email address in our bank record is also required during registration for mobile number and email address.
As long as your RMB savings sub-account is being activated, the proxy ID with bound integrated account can support for receiving both HKD and CNY payment.
Yes, but if the same proxy ID (e.g. same mobile number) are being registered at multiple banks or stored-value facility (SVF) operators, you will need to designate one of the banks or SVF operator as default receiving bank.
You may choose to pre-register the accounts or you may make fund transfers to non-registered accounts, subject to a maximum transfer amount of HKD100, 000. To make a transfer to a non-registered account, you need to set a limit for non-registered account transfers (default limit is HKD 0), have a Security Device and maintain a valid mobile number for receiving SMS alert.
You may also pre-register the accounts for fund transfers by using Voice ID in Phone Banking channel (Voice ID is subject to Terms and Conditions).
In general, the FPS registration will be effective in few seconds, you can access “FPS Registration” > “Hang Seng Registration” in Personal e-Banking to check the registration status.
You can access “P.P Payment Platform” > "FPS Registration" > “Other Bank Records” in Hang Seng Personal e-Banking to cancel your FPS registration record in other banks. Please note this function is only available if proxy ID is also registered in Hang Seng Bank.
Assume you have set your Hang Seng Bank as default receiving banking, once you cancelled that registration in Hang Seng Bank, the latest registration of other bank record with the same proxy ID shall take up as default receiving bank.
You can access “P.P Payment Platform” > "FPS Registration" > "Hang Seng Registration" in Hang Seng Personal e-Banking to view the registration status of each proxy. You can also register, de-register, and amend the proxies setting in the same service page.
Once you updated your mobile number or email address in our bank record, the registration of old mobile number or email address will be automatically cancelled by system in next working day. And you need to register FPS for the new mobile number or email address again.
If you have an activated physical security device / mobile secured key, you may instantly amend your mobile number / email address in Hang Seng personal e-Banking > Customer Services > Account Maintenance > Personal Particulars.

In order to provide you with full protection, a unique security code generated by your Mobile Security Key /Security Device must be entered when you are conducting non-registered account transfer via e-Banking. You should take good care of your Security Device to avoid accidental or unauthorized disclosure of the security code, and the risk and loss that might incurred.
Besides, you must have maintained a valid mobile number (any local 8-digit mobile number begins with "5", "6", "8" or "9" or overseas mobile number with country code specified, e.g. 8613510123456 for a China mobile number) for receiving SMS alert to perform this type of transfers, so as to ensure you are aware of the non-registered transfers made with your account(s). Such SMS alert will not be forwarded even if you have subscribed to an 'SMS Forwarding' service provided by telecommunications service providers in Hong Kong. And if you have maintained a valid email record in the Bank, you will also receive transaction notification about the submitted non-registered transfer.
If the mobile number you have maintained were proven to belong to stranger, we might have suspended this e-Banking High-Risk Transaction SMS alert for protection of your personal data. To update your mobile number, please go to “Personal Particulars” page under “Customer Services”. To resume the SMS alert service, please contact our customer service representatives.
For transfer to Hang Seng Accounts, you may make your pending instructions 45 calendar days (excluding Sundays and public holidays) ahead of time. For transfer to other bank accounts in Hong Kong, you may make your pending instructions 45 calendar days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) ahead of time.
It is not necessary to have sufficient fund in your account when you make a pending transfer. However, your instruction will be rejected if there is insufficient fund in your account on the effective date of the transfer.

FPS is a 24/7 service, which mean you can transfer money to others or receive money from others anytime. However, but also subject to the running mode of different receiving bank.
To transfer to a non-registered payee, you need to maintain a valid mobile number in our bank record, and activated Non-Registered Accounts Daily Limit or Small Value Transfer Daily Limit. If transfer by using Non-Registered Accounts Daily Limit, you need to activated your Security Device / Mobile Security Key in order to complete the transaction verification. In general, if receiving bank is one of participant of Faster Payment System, the transfer can be instantly settled. However, it still depends on the specific settlement time of different receiving bank.
Through Faster Payment System, customer can perform real-time cross bank fund transfer services by using mobile number, email address and FPS identifier. Moreover, Easy Pay also supports paying and receiving by QR code function after 30 Sep 2018.
To enjoy the new services under Easy Pay after 30th Sep, 2018, it is not required to register the service again. However, you can set up your valid CNY saving/current account as default payment account for CNY transaction if needed.
You can use Pay by QR code function (need to grant your mobile device camera or photo gallery permission) to make payment to payee. After scan the QR code, you can confirm the payment details as shown and make payment.
You need to register FPS and set a Hang Seng account as the default receiving account. After registration, select “Receive” in Easy Pay service, Input details to generate the QR code for receiving payment. You can save the generated QR code or directly share the QR code to other mobile applications.
