    He has enrolled in the "Personal Accident Insurance Plan" Premium Plan 3 months ago

    While he was out hiking one afternoon, he slipped on the trail and seriously injured his right leg

    • He had completely fractured his right leg, with the bone broken in two separate pieces
    • He was hospitalised for a week for medical treatment and observation, and his dog had to be looked after at a pet's boarding home during this period
    • Doctors diagnosed the fracture as a nonunion, which wouldn’t mend properly. This left him with a permanent loss of mobility that would affect him for the rest of his life

"Personal Accident Insurance Plan" provides cover for reasonable and necessary Chinese Bonesetting, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy expenses incurred due to accidental injury.

The Chinese Bonesetting Expenses sublimit is HKD500 or HKD1,000 per policy year (depending on plan), with a maximum of HKD100 per visit and one visit per day; the Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Expenses sublimit is HKD1,500 per policy year, with a maximum of HKD300 per visit and one visit per day.

In the unfortunate event that the insured suffers Permanent Total Disablement as a result of an accident, and the home modification is recommended in writing by a doctor or a practitioner in rehabilitative services, the expenses incurred for reasonably necessary modification to the principal home within one year may be reimbursed under the “Home Modification Allowance" benefit.

Eligibility

The insured must be eighteen (18) to sixty-nine(69) years old during enrollment, and under the age of eighty (80) years old upon anniversary date of the policy, and must not engage in the following occupations / industries: disciplinary forces or emergency services (disciplinary forces shall include but not be limited to policemen, customs officers, firemen, paramedics, immigration officers/inspectors and correctional service officers/inspectors etc); active armed services or forces; offshore oil and gas rigs; professional sportspersons; diving and related occupations; ship crews; pilots and aircrew; forestry; logging and saw mills; mining and extraction; fishing/aquaculture; construction workers; railway workers; gondola or scaffolder workers; stunt persons; use of explosives; couriers; two wheeler delivery.

No medical examination is required to enroll in this "Personal Accident Insurance Plan".

Yes, housewives or retired persons aged between eighteen(18) to sixty-nine(69) can enroll in this "Personal Accident Insurance Plan".

Coverage

"Personal Accident Insurance Plan" provides a daily 24-hour worldwide coverage for personal accident without any regional and temporal restrictions. However, applicant must be Hong Kong resident(s) permanently living, working or studying in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

You may hold policies from two insurance companies at the same time, however, you cannot be covered by more than one "Personal Accident Protection Plan" underwritten by Chubb Insurance Hong Kong Limited at the same time. As for making claims, it depends on the terms and conditions of each policy. Please check with both insurance companies to understand the policy details.

Terms

If you do not make a claim for five consecutive policy years, you will receive a cash refund equals to 30% of the total paid premium as refund.

Managing Policy

No, your policy will be automatically renewed on the renewal date until you reach the age of 80 (only applicable if premium has been received). If you have any questions, please call Chubb's customer service hotline at (852) 3191 6668.

‘Policy Review Period’ means the Insured will be entitled to review the personal accident insurance policy within 15 days after receipt of the policy. For any reason he / she is not satisfied with the policy, simply return it with a written notice within 15 days after receipt of the policy. The policy will be cancelled and any premium already paid will be refunded provided that no claim has been made under the policy.
