An MPF personal account is an individual account held in a member's own name that he/she manages, to preserve his/her accrued benefits. His/her preserved accrued benefits may be from accounts set up by previous employers or an MPF account if he/she was self-employed. |
If you hold more than one personal account…
Forgot how many personal accounts you are holding? The MPFA maintains a Personal Account Register for members of the public to check for free, please contact MPFA for enquiries. |
Members can withdraw their accrued benefits in a lump sum or in instalments on the grounds of retirement at the age of 65 or early retirement at the age of 60. There are also certain circumstances under which accrued benefits may be paid before reaching the age of 65: (in the event that an account balance is HK$5,000 or less, and provided that as at the date of the claim application, at least 12 months have elapsed since the contribution day in respect of the latest contribution period for which a mandatory contribution is required to be made to any registered scheme, and the member does not have any accrued benefits kept in any other registered scheme, and does not intend to become employed or self-employed.) |
Members are required to submit a completed claim form together with the necessary supporting documents. Accrued benefits are paid at the age of 65 or under the circumstances listed above. |
Additional voluntary contributions, Flexi-Contributions and tax deductible voluntary contributions are accepted at the discretion of the Trustee. The Trustee reserves the absolute right not to accept any additional voluntary contributions, Flexi-Contributions and tax deductible voluntary contributions at any time.
